About Hyunjin(Jin) Cho
I’m a Computer Science PhD student at the University of Iowa, advised by Dr. Rahul Singh.
Research Foci
I am trying to solve biomedical problems usign computer science, with emphasis on computer vision, computational topology, and research software tools. I develop topological frameworks for analyzing structure in high-dimensional data, with applications to:
- multivariate time series (e.g., ECoG, High-Resolution Manometry)
- biomedical imaging (e.g., bright-field microscopy, fMRI)
I work across the full research pipeline, from developing software systems for data acquisition to preprocessing and analysis, enabling reproducible and scalable experimental workflows.
Collaborators
In addition to my PhD research, I collaborate with:
- University of Iowa Health Care
- Department of Otolaryngology
- Department of Neurosurgery (in collaboration with Boston University)
- University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Department of Otolaryngology
- University of Manitoba
- Department of Human Anatomy & Cell Science
Personal Interests
On the side, I like to fiddle with personally captured underwater images/videos from my scuba diving trips.
